Dave Hollis, who formerly worked as an executive for Disney and later joined his wife in helping her manage a prosperous lifestyle empire, passed away at his home in Texas. He was 47.
Hollis, whose ex-wife Rachel Hollis penned the best-selling book titled “Girl, Wash Your Face,” was pronounced dead at his home in Dripping Springs, a city on the outskirts of Austin, on Sunday afternoon, according to Andrew Cable, Hays County Justice of the Peace. Hollis’s ex-wife Rachel Hollis was the author of the book. Due to the fact that Hollis was “young and didn’t have a long medical history,” according to Cable, an autopsy will be conducted in order to determine the cause of death. Hollis had not been seen since the evening before.
Rachel Hollis requested for people’s prayers in a post she made on Instagram on Tuesday. She said that her family is “attempting to navigate through the unthinkable.”
“Our lives have been turned upside down,” she added. “I am at a loss for words, and my heart is beyond repair.”
Dave Hollis left Disney in 2018 to work for a business that was started by his wife. He had worked for Disney for a total of 17 years, seven of which were spent as the company’s director of distribution. The family of four uprooted their lives and relocated from Los Angeles to the Austin region, where they began working together on livestreams, podcasts, and events that celebrated life. They discussed matrimony in their podcast, which goes by the name “Rise Together.”
Rachel Hollis stated in her Instagram post in 2020 that they had worked “endlessly” over the previous three years to make their marriage work but had ultimately reached the conclusion that “it is healthier and more respectful for us to choose this as the end of our journey as a married couple.”
During his time at Disney, Hollis supervised the release of a number of successful movies, such as “Star Wars” and “Black Panther,” as well as other films in the “Star Wars” franchise. After recognizing that he was stuck in a rut at his previous job, he decided to join his wife’s business in 2018, as he explained to the Associated Press. He stated that the new path he had taken felt “like a calling.”
Hollis was also the author of works on how to motivate people. Both “Get Out of Your Own Way: A Skeptic’s Guide to Growth and Fulfillment” and “Built Through Courage: Face Your Fears to Live the Life You Were Meant For” are books that he has written and published. “Get Out of Your Own Way: A Skeptic’s Guide to Growth and Fulfillment” was launched in the year 2020, and “Built Through Courage: Face Your Fears to Live the Life
